Starship Troopers: Extermination is a 12-player, squad-based shooter currently confirmed for the Windows PC. The upcoming title puts players in the boots of troopers tasked to face off against swarms of giant insectoid creatures. In the game, players take on the role of the Deep Space Vanguard, elite Special Forces, who are out to cleanse Valaka of all traces of the Archies. Judging by the looks of it, Extermination will lean towards the heavy action part of Starship Troopers. Hopefully, though, it won’t completely disregard the satire part. Offworld Industries explains gameplay will revolve around completing objectives, acquiring resources, and setting up bases as well as fighting to leave the planet alive. The 12 players will be separated into squads of four players each. Each player has a choice between three classes but everyone can contribute to base defense. Other features include a ping system as well as a minimum of five bug types at launch with more coming after the Early Access period. Extermination is the second Starship Troopers game announced in recent years. The first one, Starship Troopers: Terran Command, is a real-time strategy game that came out earlier this year to surprisingly positive reviews. Fingers crossed, the success of the games will inspire Hollywood studios to pick the IP back up and release a reboot or a new installment.
