The Aurora R13 is a successor to Aurora R12 and improves upon the existing features after considering years of customer feedback. It is aimed at customers looking to buy powerful pre-built gaming PCs. And, it is no surprise that customers will not hesitate to upgrade considering the ongoing global GPU and chip shortage.
The new Aurora R13 has a brand-new case dubbed ‘Legend 2.0’, a redesigned version of the original Aurora ALX that debuted in the PC market back in 2004. The new case design focuses on better component and cable management, which creates an “open-air” format, thus allowing for better airflow. The new desktop also offers an optional magnetic cable cover to hide the ports and cables for an even cleaner look. The desktop will originally come with two 120mm fans but can support up to four fans. The base version of the desktop already offers liquid cooling, but customers can opt for Alienware’s exclusive Cryo-tech Edition CPU Liquid Cooling technology. The new case design encourages air movement from the front intake, goes over the components inside, and then vents it out at the rear. According to Alienware, expanded internal case volume and component management improve the overall acoustics and, in turn, provide a quieter experience. The case is illuminated with RGB lighting zones controlled using Alienware’s AlienFX software, similar to Razer Synapse. The addition of eight more lighting zones is planned with future software releases. The curved case is available in either Lunar Light or Dark Side of the Moon colors featuring a transparent side window revealing an RGB illuminated motherboard. As far as the desktop specifications are concerned, the 16-core, 24-thread processor desktop is more than capable of handling not only your high-end gaming needs but also editing and rendering. Aurora R13 packs an impressive 12th-Gen Intel Core i9-12900KF processor and NVIDIA’s latest flagship GeForce RTX 3090 24GB graphics card. Those who prefer AMD over NVIDIA can opt for an equally powerful Radeon RX 6900 XT 16GB graphics card. The base variant of the PC comes with 64GB Dual Channel DDR5 at 4400MHz memory, or you have the option to go up to 128GB, which is insanely overpowered. You also get an option to include dual 2TB storage devices with up to 1TB NVMe M.2 PCIe SSD and an additional 1TB 7200RPM SATA 6GB/s HDD for storage.
