While it broke records, not everyone thinks that the second installment of the Modern Warfare reboot is that great of a game. Modern Warfare 2 received generally favorable reviews but is far from the universal acclaim of the original version which came out in 2009. Fans have also been criticizing the UI which led to plans by Activision to rework the HUD. Twitch streamer Shroud weighed in on the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. The popular gamer and CS: Go player said, during a recent Twitch stream, that Battlefield 2042 is a better game than Modern Warfare II. “It looks good. The gun models look great. The animations are good. But… I think I’d rather play… someone asked me earlier if I think this [Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2] is better or Battlefield and I think Battlefield is much better than this… the new one. Am I crazy for that?” Shroud shared during his Modern Warfare II stream. The streamer praised the gun model and animation of the game. He, however, said that the game was “bad”. Shroud did say that Ground War, a multiplayer mode in Modern Warfare II, “could be fun.” Shroud also ended his stream after the game crashed multiple times during the stream. “I wanna say it was fun… I mean, it was CoD,” Shourd said as he exited the game. “Same sh*t, different year.” Shroud is not alone in not being a fan of the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. Dr. Disrespect did a rage quit while streaming and uninstalled the game. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II has had some issues during its launch such as game crashes. The ping system of the shooter was disabled after a reported wallhack bug was being exploited by players. There was also an unexplained wave of player bans in Modern Warfare II which was blamed on the anti-cheat system of the game. While there are issues, it pales in comparison to the disastrous launch of Battlefield 2042. The game lost a significant portion of its player base before turning things around when EA launched the first season of the shooter. DICE has since been hard at work and revived the game by adding new content and implementing player-requested features such as the return of the class system. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 may not be everyone’s cup of tea. Fans of the franchise are hoping that the release of Warzone 2.0 sometime later this month will turn things around for Modern Warfare II. Modern Warfare 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 will be released on November 16, 2022.
