Battlefield 2042 was the main attraction of EA’s “not-E3” game event, with the crazy mash-up Portal game mode revealed for Battlefield 2042, alongside other details. The open beta will be fans’ first opportunity for some hands on time with the upcoming multiplayer-only near future shooter, so understandably it is one of the most popular topics about the game.

While we now know that the beta is coming in September, a whole month is a pretty broad ballpark. However, apparently EA themselves accidentally leaked the exact dates via a now-removed page on the Battlefield 2042 website. The beta will last from the 6th of September to the 11th, with EA Access subscribers getting access on the 4th. Pre-loading the beta will begin on the 3rd. Of course, there is a chance that this information was removed from the website because these plans are going to change and the beta will take place at a different date - however, for now, this remains our best bet. The open beta will not include all maps and gameplay modes, but will rather offer fans a limited snapshot of the content that will be included in the full game. Battlefield 2042 is set in the near future following a global resource crisis and the collapse of most smaller governments. Two remaining superpowers are duking it out over the dwindling resources with the use of proxy no-pat mercenaries, and players will take on the role of one of these hired soldiers. Battlefield 2042 will launch on the 22nd of October across PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
