What are the Bunkers in Call of Duty: Warzone?

Bunkers are secret locations on the Call of Duty: Warzone map that were previously inaccessible, with hype and speculation around them stirring the community. Thanks to a recent update though, you can now open the bunkers and explore the huge, multi-level, facilities that are full of chests (rare, epic and legendary), armour and tons of money.

How to Open the Bunkers?

To open the bunkers 0-10, you’ll need a Red Access Key Card. Once you have the key card, all you need to do is go up to the bunker and interact with the keypad that’s situated right outside the bunker gate. The bunker should open its doors wide open, for you to explore and loot. Bunker 11 is an abnormality though, in that can’t be opened by a simple keycard. Opening bunker 11 is a puzzle that will send you on a rat chase around the map chasing Russian phone calls and morse codes. How to Find a Red Access Key Card?

A Red Access Key Card is a rare item in Call of Duty: Warzone, and can only be obtained via looting. Your best chance of finding one in Call of Duty: Warzone is by killing someone who already has it and then looting it off them. But since you can’t know what a person is carrying until you kill them, it’s not wise to bet your money on it. Independent statistics have shown that one in ten rare chests has a Red Access Key Card, so your luck is pretty narrow here as well. All in all, there’s no sure-shot way of finding a key card. It all boils down to luck. So if you manage to find one, keep it safe and run to the nearest bunker as fast as you can!

Where are the Bunkers Located?

There are 11 secret bunkers in Call of Duty: Warzone dotted, evenly across the map.

Bunker 1 Location

Bunker 1 is located in the hills to the southwest of the Boneyard. You won’t have to take a deep detour from the main road to find this bunker.

Bunker 2 & 3 Locations

Bunkers 2 and 3 are located almost beside each other, just a few meters apart. You can find them at the northwest of the Boneyard and the Southwest of Storage Town.

Bunker 4 Location

Bunker 4 is to the southwest of the Dam near the small power buildings at the end of the main road.

Bunker 5 Location

Bunker 5 is located south of the Military Base, just beyond the elevated structures near the large radio tower.

Bunker 6 Location

Bunker 6 is located in the middle of nowhere, southeast of the Quarry. Head towards that tiny bridge near the death drop and follow it south until you reach the bunker. You’ll see the bunker against the cliffs near one of the dirt roads. Bunker 6 is located in a secluded area so it’s the ideal bunker to visit if you don’t want to be on your toes, always looking out for enemies. Since it’s so far out,

Bunker 7 & 8 Location

You can find bunkers 7 and 8 northeast of the Stadium. Near the edge of a small town, both bunkers have nearly the exact same layout as Bunkers 2 and 3. Bunker 7 is in the smaller concrete building, while Bunker 8 is in the large structure and requires you to go down a ladder to reach the door. Both of them are located right next to each other, so you have a choice.

Bunker 9 Location

Bunker 9 is located directly northwest of the Prison, along the cliffside at the end of the road. This will be on the opposite end of the bridge leading to the Prison and is the closest bunker to a Point of Interest. There are a ton of chests in this area, so it’s quite an active area with lots of players.

Bunker 10 Location

Bunker 10 is located southeast of the Port near that large circular structure that sometimes has a Buy Station near it. Take the main road until you see the bunker entrance along the cliffside. Just like Bunker 6, Bunker 10 is quite out of the way, far away from common points of interests if you’re looking for a peaceful exploring and looting session. However, unlike Bunker 6, Bunker 10 is not a good choice of bunkers in the early game as a ton of squads tend to drop around this area.

Bunker 11 Location

Bunker 11 is located northwest of the Military Base in the snowy hills. Past the large firehouse and in the cliffs, this one isn’t always easy to reach. When you arrive, look for the bunker entrance among the cliffs at the top of a small hill. You should see the large door next to some wooden crates.

Which Bunkers to Visit and Avoid?

If you don’t find the challenge of breaking into Bunker 11 appealing, then avoid it all costs. It’s one of those ‘it’s the journey, not the destination’ kind of things. Sure, you’ll find a lot of good loot, money and armour but all of that would be comparable to all the other bunkers, and the extra effort it not rewarded in loot. Bunkers 4, 9, and 10 are situated in very active areas of the map. So it is unwise to try raiding them, at least at the beginning of the game. Apart from that, you’re free to choose the bunker you’d like to explore.

What’s the Safest Way to Reach a Bunker?

You don’t want to lose all your loot while navigating your way to a bunker. Plus, if it’s somebody finds out that you have the red access card, you’ll be the prime target of the match. The safest way to reach a bunker is by a helicopter. In case if you’re unable to find a helicopter, just hop into any vehicle and drive along the very edge of the map. Most of the bunkers are situated in the outer areas, so you can safely reach them and avoid the bullet-congested centre portion of the map. If you have a key card, bunkers are site to behold. They are definitely worth visiting even in the end game, thanks to all the sweet loot and stacks of cash inside.
