Now, it appears that Sony is planning on bringing in even more of its exclusives.
What other PlayStation exclusives are coming to the PC platform?
A recent datamine leak of the NVIDIA GeForce Now database shows a handful of PlayStation exclusives in the system. This includes everything from Santa Monica Studio’s God of War to Bluepoint Games’ Demon’s Souls, as well as Guerilla Games’ Horizon Forbidden West, which was delayed to February 2022. If this is true, then PC gamers will get a chance to play these games for the first time after enjoying Days Gone earlier this year and the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves collection in 2022. Of course, this should already go without saying, but you should take this information with a grain of salt. Even if it comes from an official database, the “announcement” isn’t exactly a legitimate source. Not to mention, the existence of these games in the GeForce Now database doesn’t confirm that a PC port is coming. Devs have been known to use GeForce Now for testing and development, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic where most studios have had to adapt a work-from-home approach. What is the most interesting part here is the listing for God of War. The 2018 soft-reboot of the classic PlayStation exclusive franchise is the only one with a listing that mentions Steam. This would coincide with an earlier leak that a PC port of God of War (and Ghost of Tsushima) was in the works. Nevertheless, this is exciting news for PC gamers. Even if desktop owners aren’t starved for high-quality games, PlayStation’s library of exclusives is a different breed. Many consider games like God of War, Returnal, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, as some of the best of all time. Even if not all PS-exclusive games will make it to the PC, the fact that some will is a reason to celebrate. God of War, in particular, makes the most sense as the next PC port. The sequel isn’t expected to release in 2022. Even then, Sony might choose to delay it to make way for Forbidden West. With two years potentially separating now and the next God of War game, a PC port of 2018’s God of War would help tide audiences over until 2023.
