Critics can’t stop singing God of War: Ragnarok praises as Kratos’ latest outing appears to have captivated everyone save for one critic who’s unfortunately since gotten death threats for his uncommon remarks. However, the game’s successful launch belies the issues that it faced leading up to it. Case in point, God of War: Ragnarok was leaked by the critics ahead of the review embargo. As if that wasn’t enough, a handful of players got an early physical copy of the game, which also resulted in spoiler-filled information finding its way online. To make matters worse, the few who paid a premium for the more expensive editions of God of War: Ragnarok are reporting troubling news. The God of War: Ragnarok Collector’s Edition comes with the following freebies:
A printed digital code voucher for a copy of God of War: Ragnarok for both the PS4 and the PS5 A Dwarven Dice set A pair of 2-inch Vanir Twins Carvings A Steelbook Display Case A Knowledge Keeper’s Shrine A 16-inch Mjölnir (replica) Hammer
It’s not for everybody, but if you’re a fan of Kratos’ adventures and have got the money for it, why not? Unfortunately, over the past few days, players who spent mightily for such a copy of God of War: Ragnarok didn’t get what they wanted. Instead of the entire thing, they’ve received a package without a code and case. In some cases, it’s just the code that’s missing. Either way, this means that these unlucky few will not be able to play God of War: Ragnarok until Sony’s customer service will give them a new digital code.
— Koroshiya (@_Koroshiya) November 9, 2022 According to the accounts online, Sony’s customer service has been as helpful as trying to reason with pre-reboot Kratos. It’s unclear how many are suffering from this plight, but it’s strange for the storied console manufacturer to drop the ball on arguably its biggest release for the PlayStation 5 so far. Hopefully, Santa Monica Studio and Sony are looking into the bottom of this and can come up with a resolution soon enough.
