As per Redanian Intelligence, the show’s stars, Henry Cavill and Freya Allen, who play Geralt and Ciri, respectively, are already in Slovenia and ready to kick off filming any day now. Cavill appears to be keeping himself busy working and training with Hector, the stunning black steed that will presumably play Roach in The Witcher going forward.
According to the Man of Steel actor, the sable stallion just “showed off some of his new rearing skills”, which means that Roach has learned a handful of new tricks for next season. While The Witcher season 3 might start production any day, fans shouldn’t expect the show to arrive any time soon. Season 2 had already finished shooting at this point last year and Netflix didn’t release it until December. Netflix might delay the third season of The Witcher to 2023. Then again, they could also speed things up if only to make a handful of episodes available just in time for the holiday season with the rest coming a few weeks later. Speaking of filming locations, the latest word is that The Witcher Season 3 will be filmed in Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia. In other news, Witcher fans have a lot to look forward to in the next couple of years. In addition to a new season of Netflix’s live-action adaptation, a prequel set many thousand years before the show, Blood Origin, will arrive later this year. Also, CD Projekt RED officially confirmed The Witcher 4 with the game’s newest director promising that the studio will not be involved in creating a toxic workplace environment that encourages crunch.
