With that said, those who haven’t had a chance to go watch the new MCU movies in theaters will finally be able to join the discussions after Disney confirmed that Shang-Chi is headed to its streaming service.
When is Shang-Chi going to be available on Disney Plus?
According to Disney, Shang-Chi will be making his long-awaited Disney Plus debut on November 12. This means that it’s going to be available just a week after The Eternals premieres in theaters on November 5 and a month before Spider-Man: No Way Home slings his way onto the big screen on December 17. But, that’s not all. Disney has officially labeled November 12 as Disney Plus Day and it tends to use this date to drop a lot of content on the streaming platform. This includes everything from Jungle Cruise, which Dwayne Johnson just confirmed will be getting a sequel; Home Sweet Home Alone, which is a reboot of the classic Home Alone franchise, a series of shorts from The Simpsons, Disney, and Pixar; a new original series starring Michael Keaton, Dopesick; a special celebration of Boba Fett’s origins; and finally, a preview of the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Disney+. Disney Plus Day appears to be Disney’s take on Netflix’s Global Fan Event on August 25. Given Netflix’s success with similar events in the past, it makes sense for Disney to do the same. These marketing events are a great way to showcase upcoming TV series and films, as well as drive more subscribers to the service. Ultimately, we can only hope that Disney eventually brings Eternals and Spider-Man: No Way Home to Disney+ just as it did to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
