Case in point, the internet just went nuts after D’Onofrio shared a selfie of himself working out at the gym. Normally, no one would bat an eye when a Hollywood actor does something similar. But, at the same time, you can’t blame fans for thinking that this is a clue as well. After all, the 63-year-old actor is already part of the MCU after appearing in last year’s Hawkeye. In addition to this, the in-development Echo series, starring Alaqua Cox as the titular superhero who is also Kingpin’s adoptive daughter, is already filming around Atlanta. Even if Disney and Marvel Studios haven’t found the right opportunity to bring back Charlie Cox and D’Onofrio together in a Daredevil reboot, there is a chance that the actor is on call for a potential appearance in the still-untitled Echo series.
— Vincent D’Onofrio (@vincentdonofrio) June 18, 2022 As we’ve already mentioned, D’Onofrio is a fan-favorite character that appeared in all three seasons of Netflix’s Daredevil series from 2015 to 2018. He would later reprise his former role following Daredevil’s cancelation in the Disney+ show, Hawkeye. D’Onofrio later confirmed that his character from both series are one and the same, albeit Kingpin isn’t as powerful nor as influential as he once was in Hawkeye. How Disney+ will explain this and how it all fits in the grand scheme of things is all part of what makes the future for the villain so exciting. Speaking of Kingpin, Daredevil as well as the rest of Netflix’s Marvel shows eventually found a new home on Disney Plus. The surprising move also brought new parental controls to the popular streaming platform, which definitely did not come without pushback. So far, Disney has kept the additional censorship options on Disney+, paving the way for more violent MCU projects like Moon Knight. Given all the chatter about a Daredevil reboot, it wouldn’t be a surprise if we saw D’Onofrio and Cox reunite on-screen soon. Until then, you might want to keep an eye on your calendar so you can follow the latest episodes of Ms. Marvel. You can also look forward to Thor: Love and Thunder, which premieres on July 8.
