Angle admitted in an episode of the Kurt Angle Show that he got an offer from AEW boss, Tony Khan, to wrestle, saying: Angle’s wife interrupted him before he could go further, saying that he’s never coming back in the ring. Although she did joke that she’d take his place if she got paid $3 million. It’s unclear why Angle didn’t sign with the AEW but it’s probably because Khan thought that the asking price was too steep. More importantly, the timeline of Angle’s offer from Khan (four years ago) would suggest that Khan approached him while he was still signed with the WWE. Angle wrestled for the WWE from 2017 to 2019 and he effectively retired after losing to Corbin at WrestleMania 35. It’s possible that Angle got his timelines mixed up and he got the offer after he transitioned into a backstage role for the WWE as a producer or before he came back to the WWE in 2017. Most likely, Khan’s offer to Angle was before AEW made its debut. In case Khan entertained Angle’s request, the 13-time World Champion would’ve helped the AEW make a statement to the world. In other WWE news, the Crown Jewel is shaping up to be a massive event. The headline match between Roman Reigns and Logan Paul will be accompanied by a heavyweight bout between Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley.
