In recent years, we’ve seen award-winning efforts from several studios like the PlayStation-exclusive Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales by Insomniac Games as well as Eidos Montreal’s Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. We also should not be quick to forget Crystal Dynamics’ Marvel’s Avengers. Despite its failures, the studio still had a lot of success bringing the eponymous superhero team from the big screen to gaming platforms. At the moment, fans can look forward to upcoming Marvel games like Marvel’s Midnight Suns and Marvel’s Wolverine. Having said that, we have just come across information hinting that Electronic Arts threw its hat into the comic book ring with a new Marvel game. Shpeshal_Nick mentioned in his XboxEra Podcast that a source told him about EA’s Marvel title. However, he refused to speak more about the unannounced project fearing that the people listening might catch on and find out what it is before EA is ready to announce the game. The XboxEra co-founder added that he will try and verify news of the rumored title from other sources to find out if EA has already started working on the game or if it is only exploring the idea. If this is true, EA is the biggest company to try and tackle a Marvel game. Hopefully, EA doesn’t relegate the task to a relatively unproven subsidiary. With Respawn Entertainment already busy with multiple Star Wars projects and BioWare working on the next Dragon Age as well as Mass Effect games, fans fear that EA’s Marvel game is a mobile title. Then again, if EA can make DICE, Criterion Games, and Motive Studios work together for something big like Star Wars: Battlefront II, we’re sure EA can afford a similar collaborative effort for a Marvel-related project. Either way, if EA’s upcoming Marvel title is this early in the process, we doubt that we’ll hear something soon. In the meantime, fans can look forward to multiple rumored announcements by EA next month that will reportedly include Skate 4, FIFA 23, and the next Need for Speed.
