The demand for more The Witcher is there. So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that production on Season 3 has started. Redanian Intelligence spotted the show’s executive producer, Steve Gaub, scouting for potential locations for The Witcher season 3. If you check out Gaub’s Instagram account, you can see that he’s eyeing a handful of interesting locations such as large forest-like environments as well as an eerie tunnel. This might suggest that Ciri and Geralt’s adventures will take the mentor and the mentee to places in The Continent that we haven’t seen before.
Unfortunately, neither Gaub nor the show’s creator, Lauren S. Hissrich, has confirmed when filming of season 3 of The Witcher will officially start. But, if they’re already location scouting, cameras should start rolling soon. The Witcher season 2 raised the stakes of the popular fantasy drama series even higher. By the time that it ended, Yennefer, Ciri, and Geralt had all joined up as each of The Wild Hunt, Nilfgaard, and Redania, among others, all setting their sights on Geralt’s protege. Although we don’t know exactly what will happen in the third season, we doubt that Netflix will scale things. If anything, season 3 might be The Witcher’s larger and most expansive yet. Having said that, it will be a while before anyone will get a chance to check out the third season of The Witcher. If filming ends this year, the upcoming season will probably premiere by late 2023 if not early 2024. For now, The Witcher fans can keep themselves busy by watching re-runs of the first two seasons. The more gaming-inclined audiences can also look forward to the next-gen port of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which is coming anytime soon. Finally, the series’ prequel, Blood Origin, got its first teaser back in December ahead of its release later this year.
