As shared by VGC, screenshots of the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X storefronts confirm that the PS5 version of GTA V will be priced a lot lower. Specifically, PS5 owners with active PS Plus subscriptions can get both GTA V’s Story Mode and GTA Online for just $9.99. Meanwhile, Xbox Series S/X owners will have to shell out $19.99 for both the Story Mode and GTA Online, or just $9.99 for the latter. With a further 50% discount on top of the already halved price of GTA 5 on current-gen consoles, the PS Plus just noticed itself a rare win. Then again, March has been good for Sony so far, with a heavy-hitting lineup of free games for the month and a day one launch on PS Now. On top of this, Sony just held its second State of Play event for the year, which included information on a handful of new and upcoming Square Enix games, among several others. For those who are wondering, the discount of GTA 5 on the PS5 is a by-product of GTA Online being available for free on PS Plus this month. Ultimately, the pricing of Grand Theft Auto 5 on current-gen consoles is good news. Ever since Rockstar delayed the enhanced versions of GTAV, fans expected the studio to stamp a $70 price tag on the games. Instead, the normal price of Grand Theft Auto V for the Xbox Series S/X and PS5 is $39.99, and the current discount cuts this amount by half. The timed discount should give PS5 and Xbox Series S/X owners a chance to own the best-looking iteration of GTA 5 on a console yet. For PS4 owners, we’ve still got good news. You can technically get GTA Online for free if you maintain an active PS Plus subscription until March 15. This long-running “hack” involves logging on to your PSN account via the PlayStation app or the PlayStation web store and looking up the game. You should be able to click “Add to Library” that month’s free PS Plus game for PS5 owners. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to download GTA Online unless you have a PS5 already, but at the very least, you can collect all the PS5 freebies until you can get your hands on the elusive console. Speaking of stuff that are hard to find, fans are still busy digging up every bit of information that they can find about GTA 6 after Rockstar finally confirmed that the sixth mainline GTA title is in development.
