When is Cobra Kai Season 5 going to release?
YouTube Red’s decision to drop all original scripted programming turned out to be a godsend for Netflix. After acquiring the then-three-season series in June 2020 and releasing Season 3 on January 1, 2021, Netflix went ahead and greenlit Season 5 before even confirming that Season 4 was going to launch on December 31. In addition to this, we also learned that multiple spin-offs are already in discussion as Netflix is reportedly planning to release its own cinematic universe known as the “Miyagiverse”.
— Jon Hurwitz (@jonhurwitz) November 24, 2021 Having said that, the series’ co-creator, Jon Hurwitz, just confirmed just how well things are progressing for Cobra Kai. Season 4 hasn’t even been released yet and they’re already almost done wrapping up filming for Season 5. If Season 4 does as well as the previous seasons of Cobra Kai, Netflix might decide to release Season 5 earlier, instead of making audiences wait for a year. Of course, this is all speculation at this point. Netflix could still decide to release Season 5 of Cobra Kai a year after Season 4 drops this December. Speaking of seasons, Netflix hasn’t confirmed just how long it wants Cobra Kai to last. In other news, Cobra Kai’s lead actor, Xolo Maridueña was recently cast as the DC Comics superhero, Blue Beetle, for an upcoming HBO Max exclusive film starring the high-tech and scarab-wearing superhero. Cobra Kai is also set to see a familiar face return with Thomas Ian Griffith set to reprise his role as Terry Silver from Karate Kid III.
