The three freebies for PS Plus subscribers for the last month of the year were leaked earlier in November. Even back then, fans were hoping that Sony would gauge the fan feedback and decide to add at least one or two more, if only to help sweeten the deal. Unfortunately, this did not happen. If it’s any consolation, Godfall: Challenger Edition, Mortal Shell, and Lego DC Super-Villains are all excellent freebies. The only catch? Godfall isn’t a complete game.

Lego DC Super-Villains

Lego DC Super-Villains was first released back in 2018. It’s the first Traveller’s Tales Lego game that has made its way to PlayStation Plus. The gameplay of Lego DC Super-Villains is similar to TT Games’ other licensed Lego platforms. The key difference is that gamers will be playing as a fully customized character with a story that focuses mostly on the villains of the DC Universe. However, instead of terrorizing and being up to no good, the villains take the Justice League’s place following their disappearance as they team up to try and protect the Earth from another group of supervillains from a different universe. Lego DC Super-Villains was nominated for several video game awards at the end of 2018 and received “generally favorable” reviews on the PS4.

Mortal Shell

One of the biggest draws (and turn-offs) of Soulslike games is their vast and open worlds. Because of how incredibly detailed the worlds are, players often find it a chore to explore every nook and corner. Cold Symmetry’s Mortal Shell changes that. The 2020 title takes the difficult and punishing combat of Soulslike games but removes all of the side quests to create a linear action-RPG that feels a lot like a summarized Soulslike game for people who want the same experience without the amount of time invested.

Godfall: Challenger Edition

What was supposed to be the biggest highlight of the PS Plus games for December 2021 turned out to be its biggest disappointment. Godfall was one of the few launch titles for the PS5 last year. The game eventually made its way to the PS4. Unfortunately, this version of the looter-slasher is incomplete. As per the official PlayStation Blog, the game will feature “endgame-level content”, which means that it won’t include the single-player campaign. If it’s any consolation, the unique version will support cross-gen play and is compatible with other editions of Godfall as well.

When will the PS Plus games for December 2021 be available?

Regardless of where you stand with the PS Plus games for December 2021 lineup, you can get all of them as long as you have an active PS Plus subscription starting on December 7. In the meantime, you’ll still have until December 6 to pick up the three non-VR games as part of the November lineup. Meanwhile, PSVR owners can pick up November’s free VR titles are available until January 3, 2022.
