But, while this rumor has been going around for quite a while, it intensified yesterday to the point that people actually believe that the sale has gone through. So, which is which? Has the WWE actually been sold to Saudi Arabia? According to TMZ and Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston, no such deal has taken place or is currently taking place. But, while this is certainly not the case yet, things can change rather quickly. No one expected Vince McMahon to return to the WWE after “retiring” last year and look where we are right now. If nothing else, we’re hoping that this debacle is solved sooner rather than later. PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson reports that WWE talent doesn’t like the “feeling of unease” brought by the most recent turn of events. The WWE was enjoying a fruitful run after Triple H took over as the Head of Creative, with the final SmackDown show of last year posting historical numbers. With WrestleMania 39 set to be bigger than ever, such upheaval might have a negative effect on the performers and the audiences. One issue many WWE Superstars reportedly have is the possibility that McMahon will return to the creative side and undo the good Triple H has done in half a year. On the off-chance that Triple H leaves the WWE (presumably, by force), it’ll be interesting to see where he’ll be taking his talents next. Wouldn’t it be something for Triple H and Stephanie McMahon to team up and help a competing wrestling promotion like All Elite Wrestling? For now, it’s safe to say that the WWE and Triple H are going nowhere. We just can’t say for sure if this will remain the case tomorrow let alone in a week or a month.
