However, it appears that Triple H, the newly-instated creative head of the WWE, is more than happy to give The Rock the spotlight once again whenever he wants.
In an interview with Ariel Helwani of BT Sport, Triple H covered several topics, including a potential appearance of The Rock as soon as April. Here’s an excerpt of what Triple H shared in the interview: Triple H is no stranger to taking a hiatus only to come back and compete again. Triple H had sporadic appearances in the WWE in his later years as he slowly transitioned towards a more executive role. The now-retired professional wrestler officially retired in March and he later appeared during the second night of WrestleMania 38 a week after with a symbolic in-ring retirement. On the other hand, The Rock has not officially retired yet. But, the 50-year-old Hollywood superstar hasn’t wrestled since 2016 after beating Erick Rowan at WrestleMania 32. Before that, The Rock’s last “real” match was in 2013 when he lost to John Cena at WrestleMania 29. In total, The Rock has only wrestled just seven times since 2003 after he made the full dive into his acting career. However, The Rock is still synonymous with WWE. People will watch him wherever he goes just because of who he is. It will be a huge missed opportunity if The Rock doesn’t take the time to go back and lace his boots once again if only for one last time. Also, it would be a huge win for Triple H to back one of wrestling’s all-time greats one last time less than a year into his new role as the Chief Content Officer of WWE.
