Back in January, cyber sleuths found an unannounced update on Steam’s database. A few days later, another leak about Cyberpunk 2077 came up, this time involving the next-gen update for Cyberpunk 2077. Since then, audiences have been waiting for CD Projekt RED to drop news about Cyberpunk 2077, which is going to happen tomorrow, Tuesday.
According to CD Projekt RED, a livestream on the studio’s official Twitch channel will take place at 4:00 PM CET on February 15. The current expectation is that the stream will focus on Cyberpunk 2077’s next-gen console update. But, for some reason, others believe that CDPR will take this opportunity to stealth release Cyberpunk 2077 for the Xbox Series S/X and the PS5 on the same day. Although this is unlikely, it would be a strong show of force for the studio, especially after it promised that a “major update” would be released alongside the next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077. Cyberpunk 2077 had the potential to be one of the best games of all time. Instead, it will go down in history as one of the biggest busts. The situation got so bad that Microsoft and Sony had to pull out Cyberpunk 2077 from their respective digital stores. However, recent reviews on Steam suggest that CDPR’s latest outing is finally getting good. Even though Cyberpunk 2077 remains a shell of the game compared to what was initially promised, an upward trend in public perception can go a long way for a game that could still recover as others have in the past. Ultimately, fans should take everything outside of the confirmed Cyberpunk 2077 livestream with a grain of salt. Besides, it’s not a long wait to find out more about the decade’s most controversial title. In the meantime, fans who haven’t picked up Cyberpunk 2077 in a while can keep themselves busy playing the game again to see if things have improved. In other news, CD Projekt RED just confirmed that it’s working on a new single-player Gwent game. Meanwhile, Netflix has officially started production on The Witcher Season 3.
